Kicked off 2017 right! I am a rider integrated in with the Mountain Bike NextGen program run through Cycling Canada and Canadian Sport Institute. I am the last of the Road/Track riders in the program as it has switched primarily to focus on the up and coming talent with in the cycling discipline of Mountain Biking.

On January 3rd we all headed down to Thousand Oaks, California (just north of Los Angeles). We spent a total of 12 days doing long endurance rides around the coast and into the Santa Monica Mountains. What an incredible place to ride! Each day we were able to experience new views and roads, hitting up some pretty sweet climbs and descents.

A few of my favourite pieces of road was the Maholland HWY climb and Latigo Canyon which started off of the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway running through Malibu) we also ended up riding a few other jaw dropping roads, Decker, Encinal, Highway 33, Stunt Rd, and Rockstore (S/O to the photographer for the pics!)

We were able to power through a great block of training, as we progressed through our camp our spirits never ceased. So happy to have been able to spend 12 days with a great group of riders, can't wait for our next camp!

I am also very pleased to announce that I will be part of the 2017 Trek Red Truck Racing Women's Elite team. I am ecstatic about the upcoming race season with my new team mates, Holly Simonson, Michele Schaeffer, Anika Todd, Anna Talman, Gabby Traxler and Leah Geloeign, I hope to gain a lot of knowledge and experience with this group. Ready to bring my all this season.
